Awakenings

I believe that in a person's life, there comes a great awakening of sorts. It can be emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual. Some people never experience a great change or redirection of their lives, and for them I am sorry. It is good to rethink your path in life, critically analyzing the catalyst that calls for change.

There are a lot of people in the world right now seeing a bit of a spiritual awakening. The more people I talk to, the more I find that they discount organized religion for a more personal belief. Some imagine an entity that watches over them, while others are comforted by an ideal that their god wants them to attain. But the one thing they all have in common is a trust in the genuine goodness of people and a desire to maintain happiness. It's a mature outlook and respect for each other's happiness that comes only when a person is ultimately accepting of their own life and faults. This is knowledge acquired with time and experience, creating a tolerance for the self and the inane idiosyncrasies of the human race. Time does not make people hard or soft; a person's outlook on their experiences and beliefs causes their outlook to swing in a direction. Only by accepting ourselves and our own faults can we begin to love another, including tolerating the undesirable along side the beauty.
